It’s nomination time and we ask all our members to make the time to write your nomination selections.

We want to get a great selection of nominations to choose from and create a very exciting Gala event on October 21st. Thank you to those who have submitted nominations, they are appreciated!

Often people get concerned about the wording for the nominations, if you have any questions then please email or call me (see contact information below). Remember that anyone can make a nomination so encourage people you know to help you by contributing their ideas. Please pass the information below to your contacts and friends to get their input.

On October 21st 2010 our business community will gather to celebrate people who are positive examples and who we want to recognize and the event is one of the highlights of the year. There are so many talented, giving and hard working people in our community deserving of recognition, our work on the Nomination Committee is to bring them forward by completing the nomination form. Following that, the Selection Committee will review the applicants. All nominees are recognized on the web, at the awards and the winners for each category are announced at the gala on Oct 21st.

Getting Started

1) Go to www.nepeanchamber.com and look at the Business Awards information under Events. Enjoy the new website while you are there.

2) You have a copy of the nomination form attached.

3) Encourage others to nominate as well, anyone can nominate.

Tips On Nomination

1) People love to be nominated! It is a thrill and an honour to be recognized, so keep this in the spirit of celebration

2) Being clear on the reasons for nominating someone improves their opportunity to win a category. Please give enough information to support your nomination but do not feel that you need to write pages on this person, 2 or 3 paragraphs can provide plenty of information. Consider information that could be read at the awards ceremony and highlights a few key points. You can also include a brief story about the person or experience, for example a story of the good service you received, people love stories! You can gain your information through personal experience, third parties or you can even interview the person you are nominating, all are good.

3) You can nominate someone with or without them knowing that you have made the nomination. The chamber will not reveal the source of the nomination, that is up to you. If you do nominate someone and they know then you can interview them for information to write the nomination.

4) Ask your contacts to nominate someone or have them suggest people to nominate.

If you have any questions then please email or call me.
